Usability Testing
Problem:
This project involved creating and conducting a usability study for the Yelp mobile app.
Actions:
For this project I used remote, unmoderated usability study which entailed:
- Creating a set of tasks for each participant to perform
- Setting up the study in a usability study application
- Recruiting participants for the study
- Analyzing the data collected from the study
- Recommended specific improvements to the Yelp mobile application based on the findings
Results:
The final deliverables for this project included a report containing an executive summary of the usability findings and recommendations as well as details regarding the study and data collected.
Lessons Learned:
This project furthered my understanding of usability studies. Specifically, I learned how to conduct remote, unmoderated usability tests, find and recruit relevant participants, analyze the results and deliver recommendations based on my findings.
